Straight Answers
A quote is only as good as what we know before we show up. Tell us the door size (single or double), how many panels, whether it's a torsion spring above the door or extension springs along the tracks, and the opener brand if you know it. A photo from your phone, taken straight-on with the door closed, saves more back-and-forth than any description.
House age matters more than people expect. Housing in our service area runs from 1964 up through 2011, with a lot of it landing around 1990, and across the fifteen communities we cover the typical stock dates to the 1980s and 90s. A door from that era often has different mounting hardware and spring sizing than something installed in the last ten years, and that changes what parts we bring on the truck.
Call (912) 206-4028 and tell us what you're seeing: a door that won't open, a spring that let go, a track that's bent. We're at 780 Pooler Pkwy, Pooler, GA 31322, and most quotes for standard jobs - a broken spring, a new opener, a panel swap - can be given close to firm over the phone once we know the door. Anything unusual gets a look in person before we put a number on it.
The Work We Take On
We work on torsion and extension springs, openers, tracks, cables, rollers, and individual panel replacement on residential garage doors. That covers steel sectional doors, which make up most of what's on the ground here, and the occasional custom unit on a newer build.
Our base is Pooler, and we run calls out to Bloomingdale (3 miles), Garden City (5 miles), Port Wentworth (7 miles), Georgetown (9 miles), Thunderbolt and Rincon (13 miles each), Montgomery and Isle of Hope (14 miles each), Richmond Hill, Whitemarsh Island, Buckhead, and Skidaway Island (15 to 17 miles), and out to Guyton, Springfield, and Wilmington Island at 18 miles. If your address falls outside that radius, say so on the call - we'll tell you straight whether it makes sense for us to come out.
The climate here is mild with only occasional freeze risk, which keeps us away from the deep-cold hardware failures you'd see further north - frozen tracks, cracked plastic idler pulleys from repeated freeze-thaw. What we do see more of is hardware that's simply aged out: 20-to-40-year-old springs, openers with worn gears, rollers that have gone out of round from years of humid-climate use. 24,812 owner-occupied houses sit in our coverage area, and a lot of them are due for exactly that kind of repair.
What We Will Not Do
We won't give you a firm price for a spring job over the phone without knowing the spring type and door weight - torsion springs are sized to the door, and guessing wrong means a second trip. We also won't quote panel or track repairs sight unseen if the damage sounds significant; a bent track can sometimes be straightened and sometimes can't, and that call has to be made in person.
We don't do custom fabrication or specialty architectural doors outside standard residential sectional units. If your door is a one-off wood carriage door or something imported, we'll tell you that up front instead of taking the job and guessing our way through it.
We won't quote jobs well outside our standard coverage area just to book the call - if you're past the towns listed above, we'd rather say so than waste your afternoon waiting on a truck that has a long drive ahead of it. And we won't promise a repair will outlast a replacement. With a median household income of $80,231 across the area, a lot of households can go either way on fix-versus-replace, and sometimes the honest answer is that a 25-year-old opener costs more to keep patching than to swap out.
Frequently asked questions
Can you give me a price over the phone?
For common jobs - a broken torsion spring, a dead opener, a bent single panel - we can usually get close once you tell us the door size and what you're seeing. For anything with bent track, multiple damaged panels, or a door we haven't seen before, we need eyes on it before we commit to a number.
Do you charge extra to come out to Richmond Hill or Rincon?
Distance from our Pooler location factors into scheduling more than into a flat surcharge. Richmond Hill and Rincon both sit around 13 to 15 miles out, well within our normal run. Mention your address when you call so we can give you a straight answer on timing.
My house was built in the early 90s - does that affect the repair?
It can. A lot of the stock in our service area dates to the 1980s and 90s, and doors from that window sometimes use spring sizing or mounting hardware that's different from what's standard today. Telling us the approximate age of your house helps us bring the right parts the first time.
What if I just want a new door instead of a repair?
That's a fair question to bring up on the call. Once we know your current door's age and condition, we can talk through whether a repair makes sense or whether you're better off putting that money toward a replacement instead.
